If you want to create Static or No Data alerts, the process is similar to creating a new Anomaly alert (described here), except for the alert conditions that can be applied.
- Static alerts – The main conditions to be applied to Static alerts are the metric values that are greater than or less than the set static value thresholds. See Creating Static alerts.
- No Data alerts – The main condition to be applied to No Data alerts defines the period of time when there is no continuous metric data. See Creating No Data alerts.

Creating Static alerts
- From the Alert Console or Alerts Management pages, click +New Alerts (located in the top right corner). The Create New Alert screen is displayed.
- Select the Static Alert Type.
- In the Alert Metrics section, define your alert metrics by clicking Add a Function to select from the displayed functions. As per the instructions for creating an Anomaly alert, you also can search for the relevant measures, dimensions, and streams to include in your alert metrics by clicking in the search box. For further information about defining your alert metrics, see Metric Expressions.
- In the Alert Conditions section, define the relevant alert conditions.
Time scale (from 1 hour - 1 week); the span of time for which metrics are aggregated.
Define the number of breaches within a defined Minimum Duration period.
Select if the alert should be triggered if the metric value is Greater than or Less than the value you define.
Click the Correlate anomalies with events option switch if you want to correlate events to the anomalies in the alert. Then select for the relevant measures, dimensions, or streams in the displayed search box. Note that you can also search for relevant events, as described in Viewing Events in Dashboards. - In the Info & Recipients section, define general information about the alert, as well as alert recipients and notifications. See creating an Anomaly alert for further details.
- Click Create Alert to implement your settings. The new alert is automatically displayed on the Alerts Management and Alert Console pages.
Creating No Data alerts
- From the Alert Console or Alerts Management pages, click +New Alerts (located in the top right corner). The Create New Alert screen is displayed.
- Select the No Data Alert Type.
Note: No Data alerts can be overly frequent if the metrics you choose are not reporting periodically or if the metrics are bound to servers that are dynamically added or shutdown – for example, auto-scaling in AWS. - In the Alert Conditions section, select any influencing metrics. For further details about how to set influencing metrics, see Defining advanced alert conditions.
- In the Info & Recipients section, define general information about the alert, as well as alert recipients and notifications. See creating an Anomaly alert for further details.
- Click Create Alert to implement your settings. The new alert is automatically displayed on the Alerts Management and Alert Console pages.
