CREATING ALERTS

  1. Navigate to:  
    Either the Alerts Console
    Or Alerts Management  [Anodot navigation menu > Management > Alerts Management]
  2. Click the +New Alert button, the Create a New Alert dialog box opens. 
  3. Select a measure.
         Note: If a measure appears in more than one stream, first select the measure, press the
         measure row and select a stream. 
  4. Select up to 3 dimensions. [Optional]
  5. Choose if you want the alert to be triggered when there are spikes, drops or spikes and drops in the measure.
  6. Set how often you want to receive the alert.  
    Note: If there is enough information, a simulated estimate of alerts is displayed.
  7. Press Create.

    An Alert Created message is displayed with the name of the alert as it appears on the Alerts Management  and Alerts Console page.

    Notes:
    a/ If an alert with the same name already exists, you will be asked to give it a different name.
    b/ The new alert is automatically displayed on the Alerts Management and Alerts Console page.
    c/ The default alert title includes the measures and dimensions you selected. To search for the alert in the Alerts Management page, use the measures and dimensions as keywords in the filter panel. 
    d/ The default alert-type is anomaly alert.
    e/ The default settings in the Create a New Alert dialog box, are taken from your stream settings. When creating a simple alert Anodot determines and optimizes most of the parameters for you. You can change any of the parameters, for example a new name, changing the delta, scale, significance, recipients and influences by editing the alert at a later stage. Ratio Alerts

To receive an alert notification on the ratio between 2 measures:

  1. Navigate to:  
    Either the Alerts Console [default home page]
    Or Alerts Management  [Anodot navigation menu > Management > Alerts Management]
  2. Click the +New Alert button, the Create a New Alert dialog box opens. 
  3. Press the down arrow on the Create button and slide the Ratio Alert switch on.
  4. Select a measure.
         Note: If a measure appears in more than one stream, first select the measure, press the
         measure row and select a stream. 
  5. Select a second measure.
  6. Select up to 3 dimensions. 
         Note: Only dimensions which are common to the measures selected in steps 4 and 5 are displayed..
  7. Continue from step 5 as in a regular simple alert.

Add More Recipients

  1. Follow steps 1 - 6  in Creating Alerts.
  2. Press the down arrow on the Create button > Add recipients.
  3. Select additional recipients.
  4. Press Create

ADVANCED OPTIONS

  1. Navigate:  
          - Either to Alerts Console  
          - 
    Or  to Alerts Management  [Anodot navigation menu > Management > Alerts Management]
  1. Click the +New Alert button:
          - Either fill in the required parameters and then press Advanced options, see Creating Alerts 
          - Or
    press Advance options
  2.   Define your metrics.
      See Metric Expressions.
  3.  Set the Alert Settings.

5.  Set a unique title, a description (optional), the severity and status.
Note Dynamic variables can be added in alert names or descriptions.

6.  Define the distribution channels and instances.
     See Managing Alert Channels

7.  Change ownership [Admin and Alert owners only].

Adding Variables in Alert Titles and Descriptions

  1. Open the New or Edit Alert page.
  2. In the Info section either in the Title field or the Description field, add a property name within double curly brackets as part of the alert title or description. Example: {{Country}} 
    For example add the propertyName Country to the Description:

Note

  • In the case the alert is pushed for one Country, Anodot will replace this value with the actual name of the country in the alert notification.
  • In the case of 2 values, such as the one below, New Users by visitor type, Anodot will replace the User_Type and New_Visitors in the alert notification.

  • In the case of 3 values or more, Anodot will replace each of the variables accordingly in the alert notification.
  • Your alert notifications will be pushed based on the user-defined variables.
