Cannot find Google Analytics measure/dimension

Challenge
When creating a Google Analytics stream, a measure or dimension I chose in the query doesn't show up in the stream.
Solution

Search the dim and metric explorer by google at https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/reporting/core/dimsmets
#mode=api 
If the dimension/measure is not there, it's not available as part of the Google Reporting API.
