Fine-tuning Property Columns

  1. Click Edit Table in the Stream Table.
  2. To filter, transform or ignore properties in the streaming process. hover over the properties column you want to change  Click the down arrow to display the Fine-tune /[Ignore/Delete] Icon.
  3. i. To transform and filter a property, select Fine-tune to display the  Fine-tune dialog box. Continue to step 4.

    ii. To ignore/delete a properties column in the streaming process, select Ignore/Delete.
    Notes
    - Data collector Property column values can be ignored [the property values will not be streamed] and then included again in the streaming process.
    - User-defined Property columns values are deleted .
    -  Grayed out columns indicated that they are ignored. To re-instate a property column into the streaming process, hover over the column heading, click on the down arrow > Include icon.
  4. Click Choose.
  5. i. To Transform a Property, select

ChangeCase

Change case of input string to all lower or all upper case

Prefix

Extract prefix of defined length

Replace

Finds a ‘target’ substring and replaces it was ‘replacement’

Suffix

Extract suffix of defined length

Remove

Remove the string between the Prefix and Suffix. Prefix and Suffix are defined by Regex

Extract

Extract the string between the Prefix and Suffix. Prefix and Suffix are defined by Regex

ii. To Filter a Property, select

Starts with

To include values that start with the specified prefix, use * as wildcard

Does not start with

To include values that do not start with the specified prefix, use * as wild card

Ends with

To include values that end with the specified suffix, use * as wildcard

Does not end with

To include values that do not end with the specified suffix, use * as wild card

Equals

To include values that are equal to the specified text

Contains

To include values that contain the specified text, use * as wildcard

Does not Contain

To include values that do not contain the specified text, use * as wildcard

Matches Regex

To include values that match the specified Regex

Does not Match Regex

To include values that  do not match the specified Regex

Note
• If requested, select Yes/No Ignore case.
• To add more Filters and/or Transformers, click the Plus icon. .
• Filters and Transformations will work in the order they are presented.

5. Click APPLY.
6. Repeat steps 2 to 5 to change other Properties.
7.  Click Stream It to stream the filtered and  transformed data into Anodot for processing.

BEFORE clicking Stream It, check that you’ve finished fine-tuning the Stream Table. Streaming will take a few moments - how long depends on your system and the amount of data to be processed.

To view the metrics created, navigate to the Anodot Metrics window.
